Easter Sunday

Image
Easter Sunday started out a chilly 45 degrees, so we altered our plans for Seth's outfit. He ended up in pants and a long sleeve onesie. Still very cute, but not the outfit we had originally chosen. Then, I decided I wanted to save his "Easter Outfit" for Emmy's First Communion in May so we put him in a jon jon I found brand new at Kid to Kid on Friday. The girls sang at the 9am Mass at St. Ursula's and came home with us when that was over. (This is their dad's week, but my holiday). They got changed and then we headed to my sister's house for the day. Sal's Uncle Ernie joined us from Kent, as he often does for holidays. Group pictures never seem to work out for our family, but my sister took this picture of Sethy and I at her house for Easter dinner. We were inadvertently coordinated. It was also a beautiful, sunny 75 degree day in Washington. Speaking of dinner, my sister made her delicious macaroni salad (seriously, I'm not sure what she d...

Pretty Plate

This was Seth's dinner this evening: Sloppy joes (which he loves) Peas and carrots Mac and Cheese It just looked so pretty on his plate, and well-balanced. He ate it all.

Just Having Fun

Today was such a chilly, dreary day so we were stuck inside. I love this picture of Sal and Seth, and the one of he and I is cute as well. That pinch hurt though and Seth got his nails tripped shortly thereafter.

Easter Shopping

Image
I don't know who said little girls' clothes are cuter, but Sal and I had a great time shopping for an Easter outfit for Seth (which I hope he can also wear to Emmy's First Communion). It may also make a good travel outfit to Disney since we'll be in air conditioning and it has sleeves. I am trying to find him sleeveless rompers to wear while we're at the parks since I know it will be hot. Anyway, we ended up at Gymboree and found this ensemble, which was on sale. I need to find him some brown sandals to coordinate, but how cute is he going to look. We also did a bit of shopping at Justice for the girls. They aren't into candy so we found them each an outfit for Easter. Not to wear on Easter, but as a gift in lieu of candy. Sal had shattered his phone last week, and there was a kiosk in the mall that fixed it for him while we shopped. It was such a fun day out, and I have now discovered it's dangerous to shop with Sal. He doesn't nothing to curb...

Happy Birthday, Sarah

Image
Sarah turned 9 today. She's halfway to 18, and on her next birthday she'll be in double digits.  Oh.my.goodness.  Where has the time gone? It doesn't necessarily feel like she arrived yesterday, but in no way does it feel like it's been 9 years. Sarah is such a sweet little girl, and often she's overshadowed by her younger sister. When she can finally get a word in edgewise she is mature beyond her years. She is a people pleaser and a little bit devious. She is definitely learning how to get ahead in the world and hold her own, but at her core she is kind and caring.  She loves to sing and entertain, although I see a bit of shyness coming out in her as well. She's enjoying participating in the school play,  Seussical, Jr,  and still loves choir with Mr. Brewer.  She is also my little foodie, willing to try just about everything, and liking most of it. She has been this way since we first introduced solid food.  Sarah's birth...

Disney Planning

Image
The Jamaica Building at CBR We finalized our dates and selected a resort. Initially we had been planning on being at Disney June 20 to 24 and staying at Art of Animation . Then we realized leaving on Tuesday would be a better option for scheduling purposes and cost of airfare. We shifted our dates to June 21 to the 25th. Disney also came out with a promo for 30% off selected resorts. We were able to book a room at Caribbean Beach Resort , a moderate resort, for less than the cost of Art of Animation, a value resort so we jumped on it. My travel agent is also checking on Port Orleans for rooms since she feels we'd like that one even more. While the water taxi to Disney Springs is appealing, I say it's all Disney and we're not picky so we'll have a great time regardless. Plus, I'd like to eventually stay at all, or most, of the resorts so I figure we're checking one off our list regardless. (The last time I was at Disney World we stayed at Wilderness Lodg...

First Steps

Image
Seth took his first steps tonight. He stood there on shaky legs and took two steps toward me, and then fell forward. He was so proud of himself. He didn't try again for the rest of the night. I don't plan to tell Sal since he'd be sorry he missed it. Sal will be home with Seth next Thursday and Friday so I'm hoping he'll take some steps then, or maybe next week in the evening. Sal had play practice all week so he was coming home between 10:30 and 11:30 depending, and then he was gone again by 6am. I didn't realize how much that schedule was going to wear on me. I cannot wait to be back to a normal routine. I miss him. Today is also St. Patrick's Day so the girls wore green to school, and second grade had set their leprechaun traps last night. They had apparently enticed leprechauns into the their classroom, but alas, all the leprechauns escaped leaving only bits of clothing and gold coins. I saved this picture from Emily's teacher's Facebook pa...
