Celebration!
Today we celebrated Sal's gradution from Franciscan University with a masters degree and his 50th birthday.
His graduation was originally scheduled for May, but with the coronovirus pandemic still raging, it was postponed to August. Then, August rolled around and the pandemic is still raging so the university decided to do a virtual graduation, to which Sal said, "no thanks." We still went ahead with the party though.
We ordered a delicious meal from Remo's Catering that included baked and fried chicken, green bean almondine, and two different kinds of mac and cheese. I made a huge fruit salad. We also ordered desserts from Jean-Marc Chattelier and Pittsburgh Sweet Treats.
Green and gold are Franciscan's colors, and I thought sunflowers make a nice masculine flower, and I love the gold with blue. The gingham was perfect for an outdoor, summer picnic.

Softball buddies showed up, as well as friends/coworkers, and ond of course, family. It was awesome that so many people wanted to drive over from Ohio to Pennsylvania and celebrate with Sal.
As luck would have it, the days leading up to the party were beautiful and not a cloud in the sky. The morning of the party however, it was chilly and the forecast called for rain. Fortunately, the rain held off, but it never really did warm up. On a positive note, nobody suffered from heatstroke.
We played yard games, corn hole and horseshoes, but mostly we just visited and hung out for the afternoon.
